When to use one
Use a program when you want every link for a platform to reuse the same country setup. Amazon is the clearest example: US shoppers can go to Amazon.com, UK shoppers to Amazon.co.uk, and unsupported countries can fall back to your default storefront.
Amazon setup
- 1Open Programs.
- 2Click Create program.
- 3Name it something clear, like Main Amazon program.
- 4Choose Amazon.
- 5Pick the Default country.
- 6Add your affiliate tag for each storefront you actually monetize.
- 7Turn Active on for the countries that have real tags.
- 8Click Create program.
After setup
- Attach the program to Amazon Smart links so routing can reuse the country rows.
- Only activate countries with real affiliate tags.
- Use analytics to decide which countries deserve tags next.
- Keep the default country as the destination you would choose by hand.
