Billing
Plans, usage, overages, checkout, and Stripe account management.
What is billing based on?
Plans are based on included monthly optimized clicks (deep links). Bot clicks, bio views, regular bio taps, and non-deep links are free.
Do bot clicks count toward billing?
No. LinkStack checks for known crawlers, social previews, validators, and other automated traffic before usage is counted. Those hits may appear when you turn on Bot clicks in analytics, but they do not use plan clicks or trigger overages.
What happens when I get close to my limit?
Navigation shows compact usage information at 70% of your optimized-click, automation-trigger, or active-link allowance. At 90%, one dismissible banner appears. At the limit, the notice explains whether activity can continue with overages or requires action. Confirmed restrictions stay visible. Active links have no monthly reset; archive old links to free space.
What happens when I hit my monthly optimized click limit?
New optimized redirects pause after the included allowance unless a paid account has opted into overages and has enough spending capacity for the next click. Upgrade, review overage settings in Billing, or wait for the reset date shown for your usage period. Free accounts must upgrade to use paid overages.
What are overages?
On paid plans, opt-in overages let optimized clicks and automation trigger starts continue beyond their included allowances. Usage charges share the overage spending cap set in Billing. LinkStack selling fees and Stripe processing fees are separate from subscription and usage charges.
Can I cap overage spend?
Yes. On a paid plan, open Billing → Overages and spending cap. Enable paid overages, enter a cap in USD for the usage period, and save. Click and automation overages share that cap. Set 0 for no additional spending, or leave it blank for no cap.
How do I upgrade?
Open Billing or Pricing, or choose See upgrade options in a usage notice. Choose annual or monthly billing, then a plan. Annual billing is selected first unless you already chose a cadence. Free accounts use embedded Stripe checkout; paid plan changes show a proration review before confirmation. Stripe shows the final payable amount.
Why is a plan recommended in an upgrade offer?
Feature and usage offers recommend the least expensive higher plan that supports the requested capability or next action and fits your known usage. Recommendations use recorded usage without forecasting. General plan comparisons are neutral. If no higher plan resolves the limit, review billing or manage active links instead.
Can I return to my work after upgrading?
Closing an upgrade offer leaves the editor mounted and retains your billing choice. When checkout starts from a creator screen, billing completion and cancellation offer Return to your work. Save changes before leaving for payment: unsaved edits are not carried across redirects. If the destination is missing or invalid, return to Billing.
How do I manage my plan?
Use Manage plan in Billing. Stripe handles payment method, invoices, and subscription management.
Can I downgrade?
Plan changes that lower your tier are handled through the billing portal. The app avoids showing lower-tier upgrade buttons when you are already above them.
Can I cancel my subscription?
Yes. Open Billing, choose Manage in Stripe, and cancel before the next renewal. Paid features generally stay available through the end of the current billing period, then the account moves to the Free plan.
What happens to my links if I cancel?
Canceling does not delete your account or saved links. When the paid period ends, country routing remains available within Free's optimized-click allowance. Free plan limits and feature gates apply to advanced manual routing rules, custom domains, analytics history, and link allowances. Review your active links before the downgrade takes effect.
Do you offer a money-back guarantee?
Yes. Your first paid LinkStack subscription is eligible for a full refund when you request it within 7 calendar days of purchase and the account has used no more than 2,000 optimized clicks and 50 automation triggers. The guarantee does not cover renewals, plan changes, overage charges, AI credit purchases, or other one-time purchases. One guarantee refund is available per customer. Submit the request through Contact support. No questions about why you are leaving. We only verify the purchase date and usage limits. We want long-term customers, not people stuck in subscriptions they do not want.
Can I upgrade my account at any time?
Yes. Open Billing or Pricing, choose the new plan and billing interval, and review the Stripe confirmation before completing the change. Stripe calculates any applicable proration.
How will I be charged?
Paid plans renew on the monthly or annual interval selected at checkout. Prices are shown in USD. Annual offers show a monthly equivalent and the full amount charged yearly. Stripe determines the final payable amount, including applicable discounts, taxes, and currency conversion. LinkStack selling fees and Stripe processing fees are separate.
Why did checkout fail?
Common causes are missing Stripe price IDs, invalid plan IDs, unavailable customer records, or Stripe not returning a session URL.
